Staying In The Vortex, It’s All About the Body Work

I’ve been enjoying The Vortex, Abraham’s latest work for some time, and I just received their meditations to accompany the book.
Here’s what I find interesting. Abraham started originally talking to us about managing our thoughts; very important, and something we were not totally unfamiliar with, but put a new spin on it with the concept of Law of Attraction.
Then Abraham began talking about managing our emotions. I celebrated. Emotions bring the speed that the thoughts set with the clarity.
Now I’m jumping up and down excited because Abraham is talking about the breath, the body; listening to, relaxing with, managing the rhythms of the body to “stay in the vortex”.
Clients who have known me for some time know that I’ve been saying since The Astonishing Power of Emotions to watch, that next Abraham will begin talking about the body and here we are with the Vortex, and the Vortex meditations.
Why did I predict this? Because learning to Self-Coach, taught me that if I want to change my patterns, the fastest way is to work with the body (that’s what accelerated learning is all about).
So thoughts can be used to determine clarity and send my order to the Universe. Managing my emotions and healing determines the speed. And clearing patterns and really aligning so I can allow what I want in, that’s done with the body.
So if you want to change fast, the fastest way is to work with the body patterns. So I’m excited that Abraham is working us through the Law of Attraction towards easier and faster ways to get into alignment. The really good news, is we don’t have to work the slowest way, only through the thoughts, we can work with all three; body, emotions, & thoughts, at once and transform ourselves that much faster and easier.

Dealing With Our Stuff. Ram Dass says of this, “…the work is ongoing. Even now, I am still wrestling with contentment in my old age”.
Ah, so it’s not just me…wrestling with both my stuff…and contentment (not to mention the turn of the wheel of age). That’s comforting.
Even for a teacher, a coach, it’s still a process of peeling that onion, wrestling with my stuff.
And that “stuff” is both figurative and actual. The popularity of Feng Shui has helped us all realize the importance of dealing with our physical stuff. David Allen is talking about dealing with our business stuff. And Ram Dass is helping me look at my inner stuff; my inner, conditioned barriers to true love. I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying this.
And the extra challenge of puzzling out how this might relate to my business stuff if both entertaining, frustrating and intriguing to me.
How can having a method to deal with e-mail and social media exchanges, on a daily basis have anything to do with my relationship to Love? But I know it does, indeed.
Just like I’m exploring with my class in Getting to YES Now! the relationship with my own energy to the energy that I experience back from clients, I know that when I find more ease in Getting Things Done, I’ll experience more ease within myself.
So it’s worth challenging the old ways I’ve been doing things in my office. It’s worth challenging my stories about getting it done and no time to “sharpen the ax”. Yep, it’s a whole new year.
This week, I’m taking David’s suggestion in Getting Things Done and spending time in my office, really taking a look at it and making some changes, with the intention that my office will serve me better.
Extra credit for me, is to look at my office and see if there isn’t some way I can both reorganize and create an environment that reminds me, even more of the love I have for my business and my clients.
Want to join me? Would love to hear how you’ve done this, or are doing this.
What I’m Learning From Those Who Want To Experience “Yes”

This week, my Getting To YES, Now! course begins and I’d like to share what I’m learning from those who have been attending the introductory calls.
Yes, I’ve been learning! I’m so impressed by those of good heart and soul, who really want to do more than just get through their work day and activities. I’m in awe of those who come to the calls and share their desire to feel really good, really connected with those they serve, strong in their knowledge of their industry.
So much is emphasized about those that are trying to work as little as possible for as much return as possible, or who want to take and get away. But here I am in the circle of amazing people in their field who want more, for themselves and their clients. They want to feel good about what they offer and they want their clients to feel good whether they say “yes” or “no”. Simply amazing, isn’t it?
So here’s what I’m learning from my “students”:
Fear is just the flip side of Desire, desire to feel good and create a space for your client to feel good.
Some people feel good talking to people they don’t know, more than those they do (something to pay attention to yourself if you talk to people on the phone, how do they feel about it?).
Spending time thinking about how I want to feel and who I want to be, before I ever pick up the phone, is going to affect my voice, my energy, and of course, my success. It’s worth the preparation.
There’s more of course, but I think I’ll say some and update you all as the weeks go by.
Hope you’re enjoying the winter activities,
Deborah
P.S. It’s too late to sign up for Getting To YES, Now! but I’ll be offering an 8-week course, BEING Your Own Solution, starting in February. If you want to experience changes, those changes must start inside first. Do you know how to change on the inside?

Tomorrow I start reading two books and discussing them in Deborah’s Book Corner. I hope you’ll come meet me.
I had David Allen’s book Getting Things Done slated to start the New Year; seems appropriate. However, I became entranced with Be Love Now by Ram Dass and flashed on the idea of playing with inspiration sparking off the two together.
Won’t you come join me in the library? I’d love to hear your thoughts as we see what unfolds studying wisdom of East and West. Just click on What’s Deborah Reading and sign up for the RSS feed or leave a comment below.

Cold Calling and Personal Mastery

What could the art of calling people you don’t know yet, or barely know, have to do with growing your character, expanding yourself, finding your bliss even?
That’s the question I’ve been asking myself. I’ve been wondering if anyone thinks it’s odd that as a coach, helping people use the intuitive and blend the spiritual with the practical, I’m talking about networking and cold calling?
See, it’s kind of odd for me too, but the thing I think I’ve noticed is that we’re all still living on the material plane, and have practical concerns. And for most of my clients, it’s the very real concern of business that is high on the priority list.
So wanting to apply self-coaching tools, not in some airy-fairy, theoretical way, but if very every-day-real-life situations; it actually makes sense that I would be kicking off the new year with the very topics so important to business and financial well being.
I have to say, I’m not coming at these topics in precisely the usual way. But I am striving to find the concrete and successful while attending to the heart and soul.
I’ve made a group of short videos exploring the topic of connecting with clients that I hope you’ll check out here.
And I’d love to hear from you all, what your greatest challenges are, so that I can offer self-coaching tools to match.
Happy New Year!
Deborah
P.S. Starting a new book discussion here on the blog. Come read with me!
P.P.S. Last day to register for Getting To Yes Now! is this Sunday. Hope you’ll consider joining us next week (early mornings to get the day started off right).
